Who We Are
Exodus Counseling & Consulting LLC is a private mental health group practice located in the Homewood area of Birmingham, AL. Our focus is on providing exceptional services in a warm, comfortable environment where our clients can gain more insight into who they are and grow. Providers in our practice provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy to clients of all ages (3+) and can accommodate clients needing a variety of services. Our practice has specialties in play therapy, Juvenile Sex Offender Counseling, and treatment of other complex clinical issues.

Our Beginning
One of Dr. Melton’s favorite movies is the Ten Commandments (1956) with Charles Heston. She has watched this movie countless times throughout her life. It tells the story of Moses from the book of Exodus in the Bible. Her favorite scene from the movie is when the children of Israel have left Egypt on their journey toward the Promised Land and must cross the Red sea (Exodus 14). They crossed on dry land with the Red sea on both sides. Their journey was not without its challenges, but it was definitely a faith walk. Not knowing what lies ahead but realizing that going back is not an option. This journey was the children of Israel's Exodus.

In 2020, Dr. Melton decided that she too, would embark on a journey and start her own business. Starting a business was not new to her, but this time it would be different. She would be alone on her faith walk. This journey would take courage, strength, and faith to keep moving even if she didn’t know what was ahead. Her exodus would require Dr. Melton to leave the security of the 14-year tenure on her job and begin again. She had her vision, now it was time to trust God, His plan and purpose for her life to order her steps. This business would be life changing for not just her, but every person connected would 'touch one to reach one.' This was how the vision for Exodus Counseling and Consulting began.

At Exodus CC, we walk with clients along their journey to support them during life’s challenges. Regardless of how bad the past might have been, therapists encourage clients to begin again and keep walking on their journey making steps toward a happier healthier life…. this is their Exodus.
